Episode 31: Burton Silverman

We hope this one is worth the wait: We recorded with a legend in New York City Realism, Burt Silverman.  Burt has had a long career spanning over six decades. His list of shows and honors is far too extensive to state here, but some highlights are the inclusion of his work in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the National Portrait Gallery and the New Britain Museum, to name just a few. Burt is known for his figurative paintings, portraits and illustration for publications such as the New Yorker. He is also known as a generous teacher, a beacon for generations of young artists. Burt’s name has been at the top of our list since the inception of Suggested Donation Podcast, so we are honored to finally have the chance to present this conversation to you. We are grateful for all of your positive comments and your patience during our recent podcast drought. We recently switched to a different software and hope that the sound is still of high quality - please let us know your thoughts. Enjoy!
